Details:
Peter, also known as Simon Peter, was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ and a leader in the early Christian Church. He was born in Bethsaida, a village near the Sea of Galilee, and was a fisherman by trade before being called by Jesus to become a disciple. Peter was often portrayed as a passionate and impulsive figure in the Bible, prone to both moments of great faith and moments of doubt and fear. 

According to Christian tradition, the Apostle Peter was martyred in Rome during the reign of the Roman Emperor Nero, who was emperor from AD 54 to 68. It is believed that Peter was crucified upside down at his own request, as he did not consider himself worthy to die in the same way as Jesus Christ. The exact details of Peter's death are not known with certainty, but many early Christian writers and historians attest to his martyrdom, and it is widely accepted as a historical fact among Christian communities.
