Samson Tormented by Delilah

Judges 16:15-16:
Then she said to him, “How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when you won’t confide in me? This is the third time you have made a fool of me and haven’t told me the secret of your great strength.” With such nagging, she prodded him day after day until he was sick to death of it. So he told her everything. “No razor has ever been used on my head,” he said, “because I have been a Nazirite dedicated to God from my mother’s womb. If my head were shaved, my strength would leave me, and I would become as weak as any other man.”

Description:
In the Bible story, Delilah was tasked by the Philistine rulers to discover the secret of Samson's strength so they could capture and subdue him. Delilah repeatedly asked Samson about the source of his strength and each time he gave her a false answer. However, she continued to plead with him and pressured him until he finally revealed that his strength came from his uncut hair.

Delilah betrayed Samson to the Philistines by having his hair cut while he was asleep, causing him to lose his strength. This allowed the Philistines to capture Samson, gouge out his eyes, and imprison him. Delilah's role in the story is controversial, as some see her as a treacherous figure who knowingly betrayed Samson, while others argue that she was simply a pawn in the Philistines' plan and did not fully understand the consequences of her actions. Nonetheless, the story of Delilah tormenting Samson has become a symbol of the dangers of giving in to temptation and the consequences of betrayal.
